McIlroy and Scheffler weigh in on LIV Golf and PGA Tour ahead of The Showdown

Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler have joined Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka and finally weighed in on the upcoming Showdown. The four-time major winner said this helps repair the relationship between LIV and the PGA Tour.

“We’re trying to bring these players together, and the most opportunities we can get to do that, the better,” McIlroy said in a conference call for “The Showdown”.

“Does it remind people we’re not playing together all the time? Yes,” he said. “But at least we’re making the effort to try to bring the best together more often. If we can start by doing something like this, that’s only a good thing.”

Scheffler had this to say:

“We’d like to see everybody back together,” Scheffler said. “There’s been so much talk about LIV versus the PGA Tour, all this talk about money. We want to get back to the competition. … It’s fund to get together to compete.”

So there you have it. These two didn’t really discuss any potential Ryder Cup style match-up, but they share a sentiment that I think all of us share, they want to compete against guys like Bryson.
