REPORT: Match II to feature Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning

Tiger Woods

The Match, or Match II if you will, is starting to take shape. It won’t be anything like the first Match between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson in which the winner will take home a prize of $9 million. This match will be played as a fundraiser for those who have suffered from the Coronavirus.

The interesting part is that it won’t feature just Tiger and Phil, but also Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.

The PGA Tour issued a statement Tuesday, stating, “Discussions along these lines have been ongoing for quite some time, but nothing has been approved by the Tour.”

This Match also won’t be played in Vegas, but at a course in Florida instead. There won’t be any spectators and players will keep a minimum distance of six feet between them because we live in a time when social distancing is actually a thing…a good thing.

This type of Match was proposed a while back, but Woods wasn’t interested, however, since the pandemic has shaken the country the golfer has changed his stance on the possibility of this taking place.

Obviously, nothing is set in stone yet, but there is a potential that this would be played in May. If so, it would very likely draw a huge audience since there are no other live sports on TV to watch and we’re all bored out of our minds.

No word on whether Tiger will be paired with Brady or Manning, but it would seem that Brady is the better fit and Manning would pair better with Phil.

Thoughts?

Anyone?
