We have all known for a while that Rory McIlroy is a workout freak. The guy lifts and lifts and lifts and has had multiple commentators criticize him for it and despite that, he is still the number one player in the world.
On Monday, we found out that McIlroy is also a beast on his Peloton bike.

“There are some really impressive Peloton metrics floating around online, and the rumor is they belong to you,” asked Shane Ryan of Paste Magazine. “Can you confirm that that was you?”
Yeah, those numbers belong to McIlroy and show that he rode almost 20 miles at an average pace of 26.3 mph, produced 955 kj of energy and ranked 11th out of 9,240 riders on the Peloton leaderboard.
“But I think the bike was a little juiced,” McIlroy said.
Juiced or not, those are impressive numbers for a golfer.
“I’ve never really enjoyed doing cardio,” McIlroy said. “But since learning about Peloton and doing it and being a part of that whole community and stuff, I’ve started to enjoy it. And I enjoy the whole leaderboard aspect of it and that it is competitive in some ways. You’re always trying to beat your last score.”
“It makes me earn my dinners and sort of keeps me in decent shape,” McIlroy said. “I’ve been enjoying it.”
Whatever floats your boat, Rory.
All I know is that is fast and not something I care to do. Plus, I don’t have $3,000 for one of those bikes.
