Web.com Tour is Now the Korn Ferry Tour

The PGA Tour’s developmental circuit has undergone many different name changes during its existence. It’s been called the Nike Tour, the Hogan Tour, and the Nationwide Tour. Since 2012 though, it has been known as the Web.com Tour.

Well, thanks to a new partnership agreement, the Tour is about to get another name change and it will take effect immediately.

Beginning on Thursday at this week’s Wichita Open, the Web.com Tour will be no more. Instead, it will now be called the Korn Ferry Tour, named after the global executive search and consulting agency Korn Ferry.

Korn Ferry signed a 10-year deal with the PGA Tour to be the new title sponsor of the Tour’s developmental circuit. In addition to the name, as part of the deal Korn Ferry will also enter an official marketing partnership with the PGA Tour. Korn Ferry will now be the “official organizational consulting and talent acquisition firm” and “official leadership development firm” of the PGA Tour, the PGA Tour Champions, and Korn Ferry Tour.

As part of the title sponsor agreement, Korn Ferry will also assume sponsorship of the Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance in Evansville, Ind., the third and final event in the Tour’s Finals and the developmental tour’s Q-School, now known as the Korn Ferry Qualifying Tournament.

While the name is changing, there will be no changes to the actual structure of the tour and its 27 tournaments played in 17 states and in four countries outside the U.S.
