Eddie Pepperell and Jhonny Vegas Make Huge Putts on 18

Since 2007 the PLAYERS has been in May. When in May, the island green 17th hole has been known for carnage as the number of water balls racked up round after round.

This year the tournament has shifted back to March and the water balls have been replaced by a series of masterful shots on 17. Already this week we have seen a hole in one from Ryan Moore.

Fast forward to Sunday and we had two of the best putts we have seen on 17 since Tiger’s “better than most” moment.

The first came from Eddie Pepperell when he drained this 50 footer to take a share of the lead at the time:

The next one was this bomb from Jhonny Vegas from 70 feet, the longest in PLAYERS history:

As of publication, Pepperell was in a tie for first at 14-under
