We’ve already seen the first casualty of the new shorts allowed during practice and pro-am rounds ahead of tournaments rule.
Ben Crane, a name some of you may remember, is still on the PGA Tour despite only making two cuts (he finished T46 in both) this season in six events and finishing out last season with five straight missed cuts. Crane has five PGA Tour victories to his name but has finished in the top 10 only three times since his last win in 2014.
I digress…
This week, Crane is playing in the alternate field event in Puerto Rico this week, the nicely named “Puerto Rico Open,” when he decided to take advantage of the new rule and forgot to apply or didn’t apply enough sunscreen.
He paid the price for it.

See, pants aren’t all that bad.
If you’re wondering how Crane, who last won Jun 8, 2014 at the FedEx St. Jude Classic, has status…
