Justin Rose has climbed from 15th in the world rankings in 2017 to second. He is coming off of a spectacular 64-69 weekend at the Open Championship where he finished T2 behind winner Francesco Molinari after barely making the cut.
Rose, who has suffered from back spasms in the past, confirmed this was the reason he has withdrawn this week.

Rose is arguably one of the hottest golfers on the planet this season. He has 18 top 10 finishes in his last 23 events around the globe. I’m not sure how to tell you this, but that’s pretty good.
Rose has finished in the top 10 in the Bridgestone five times in his career.
Rose did confirm he plans to play in the PGA Championship next week at Bellerive.
