FedEx St Jude Classic Picks

This week takes us to the land of Elvis and BBQ, Memphis, Tennesse and the FedEx St Jude Classic. The final stop on the way to the season’s second major, the U.S. Open. Here is who we like this week.

D Money

For this week I am picking the story over the specific player. Daniel Berger has already gone back-to-back in Memphis so seeing him win the three-peat would be a compelling story. Another great story would be someone winning who wasn’t already exempt into the U.S. Open and punches their ticket to Shinnecock in the 11th hour. So for this week, I am going with either Berger or someone who isn’t already in the U.S. Open.

Unlike my compatriot who took 1 and about 50 other guys, I’ll make this easy …

Daniel Berger

But on a serious note, it is hard to imagine a guy who could possibly love this course more. Berger has had a pretty disappointing season and his only finish in the top 10 came QBE Shootout * last December. In comparison to 2017, Berger had 3 top 10 finishes before winning this event.

He doesn’t excel in any category. He’s 74th in strokes gained off-the-tee. 42nd in strokes gained approaching the green. 93rd in strokes gained around-the-green. and 49th in strokes gained putting.

BLAH!

GET IT TOGETHER BERGER!

note – I don’t care what happens this week … we’ve got Shinnecock next week!
