Patrick Reed has definitely been feeling himself lately. During the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Reed to a jab at Spieth when he wasn’t awarded a drop by a rules official even though it clearly looked like he deserved one. What Reed was referring to was Spieth’s extremely long drop that took place during the 2017 Open Championship and lasted nearly 30 minutes … you probably remember that and if you don’t, here’s a video.
Spieth and Reed will face off against each other on Friday in Austin during their third matches in the WGC-Dell Match Play, but after his round on Thursday, Reed made sure and threw a jab at Spieth.
I asked Patrick Reed to give me a scouting report on what makes Jordan Spieth such a strong match play opponent. His response? "I don't know, my back still hurts from the last Ryder Cup (laughter)."
