Tiger Woods is tied for the lead at the Valspar Championship

Tiger Woods put in a solid first round at the Valspar Championship, finishing at -1, just a few strokes off the lead.

He doubled down on Friday when he went out at -2 and added to that to get to -5 entering his final hole with the outright lead, one stroke ahead of Paul Casey, Brandt Snedeker, and Corey Conners (who has yet to tee off). Unfortunately, Woods gave a stroke back on the final hole of the day with his only bogey of the day.

Woods has now become the overall favorite to win this week according to Bovada.

And to be honest, that shouldn’t surprise anyone.

This comeback appears to be the real deal, and with a win this week, or a top 5 finish, Woods would confirm that he is ready to make the leap back to the top of the game.

With Phil playing like he is and Tiger playing like he is, we could be getting set up for one of the best Masters in history as well as one of, if not the, best comebacks ever.
