Valspar Championship Picks

Reminder, this is just two guys throwing names out there for fun. If you plan on taking these to the house and betting with them, do not blame us when they don’t work out!

D Money

While the Tiger fan in me wants to pick him this week, I still think he gets his first post-comeback win next week at Bay Hill. So instead, I will turn my attention to one of his playing partners this week and go with Jordan Spieth.

While Spieth has had a quiet start to 2018 by his, and our, standards, I can’t see that lasting much longer, especially with the putter. Speith also seems to like the Copperhead Course. In his four starts in Tampa, he has never finished worse than T20 and won the event in 2015. Look for him to get his second win in his career in Tampa this week.

The Stiff Shaft

Obviously I would love to pick El Tigre, but that can’t happen this week as it is his first appearance at the Valspar.

I’m going to pick Justin Rose. Rose has had four weeks off to rest up after getting off to a blistering start this season.

Rose has not won this event, but picking a previous champion is like throwing darts blind folded. Seriously, look at these winners:

2017 – Adam Hadwin
2016 – Charl Schwartzel
2015 – Jordan Spieth (nice pick D Money)
2014 – John Senden
2013 – Kevin Streelman
2012 – Luke Donald

ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz

So hopefully with Tiger, Spieth, Sergio, McIlroy and Rose in the field we get to see something interesting.
