47-year-old Phil Mickelson is back in the winners circle for the first time since he won the Open Championship in 2013.
Mickelson held off a red-hot Justin Thomas, who holed out for eagle on the 72nd hole, in a playoff that lasted only one hole.

Mickelson nearly secured his win with this birdie putt on the 17th in the first playoff hole, but in true Lefty fashion it lipped out.

Thomas, who flew the green with his tee shot which was almost stepped on by a cameraman …
… left himself a dicey putt for par which he proceeded to miss, sealing the win for Phil.
Phil’s last three starts include a T5, T2, and T6. Both Lefty and JT are playing some unbelievable golf right now and if we’re lucky, we’ll get to see a Phil-Tiger-JT-Spieth playoff at Augusta!
Congrats, Lefty. ☺️#WGCMexico pic.twitter.com/muu2nvIwhz
