2019 Open Championship odds

Jeff Sherman of GolfOdds.com has updated his Open Championship odds for this week. Surprisingly, Brooks Koepka isn’t the outright favorite to win and Rory McIlroy is.

While McIlroy has had an outstanding season that includes 11 top-10s in 14 events, one of which was a win at the PLAYERS Championship, he hasn’t won a major since the 2014 PGA Championship at Valhalla. On the positive side, McIlroy has finished 1st, T5, T4, T2, and T8 in his last five Open Championship appearances.

Koepka, on the other hand, has finished T10, T6, and T39 in his last three Opens.

Obviously, all eyes will be on Tiger this week, who won at Augusta earlier this season, but he hasn’t played since the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach where he finished T21. With four top-10s in nine events including a green jacket, Tiger is still showing signs of life. Woods has never played in an event at Royal Portrush, which is hosting the Open Championship for the first time since 1951.
