Challenge Tour Event Will Feature A Par 6

With the advancements in club and ball technology, we have heard all the complaints about how shorter courses becoming obsolete in professional golf. Short of making every golf course 8,000 yards, the only way to preserve the game is to dial back the technology.

The European Challenge Tour might have found a third option when it comes to challenging the modern golfer.

No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. Those who tee it up at this week’s D+D Real Slovakia Challenge will face a 783-yard par 6(!).

The host venue, Penati Golf Resort, looks like your average golf course on paper. It will play at just 7,115 yards this week and feature a variety of standard par 3s, 4s, and 5s. What will separate this course from every other that pros see is the par 6.

The event was last held in 2016, with Espen Kofstad defeating Romain Langasque in a playoff.
