Justin Thomas is playing in his fourth Masters this week. On Monday morning, Thomas went off at 8 o’clock a.m. with Fred Couples and Tiger Woods.

Thomas has enough experience at Augusta National to know what not to do, but it’s always good to get out there and pick the brains of the guys who already have green jackets hanging in their closets.
Thomas did just that with Couples and Woods, except that Woods wasn’t as helpful this year as he has been in the past.
Per Golf Channel: “Tiger probably isn’t as, I mean I’m not trying to be mean, but isn’t as helpful I would say as Freddie,” Thomas said. “He just doesn’t, at this point he doesn’t quite give as much information.”
I think we all know why Woods wasn’t offering up as much information as he probably has in the past. Tiger established that he is back with a win at the Tour Championship last season as well as a great performance at the PGA Championship where he finished second behind Brooks Koepka.
Yes, that’s right, Tiger Woods finished second in a major championship LAST YEAR!
Thomas continued:
“I’ve picked Tiger’s brain enough around this place that he’s probably told me everything he’s going to tell me,” Thomas said. “But I’d ask Freddie little things about stuff, where he lays up to different pins. … From playing, I try to pay attention to how guys do it to where I feel like I have a pretty good idea about where I need to go.”
Thomas knows that things are different with Woods this year. Woods is focused on winning where Couples knows he likely won’t win. Woods is currently listed at 12/1 odds this year and Thomas is listed at 16/1.
There’s something to be said about just how respected a 43-year-old who hasn’t won a major championship since 2008 is when he is ranked ahead of a 25-year-old who won a major two years ago.
