Jeff Knox formally invited by Masters’ Chairman Fred Ridley to play in 2019 Masters

Jeff Knox is a legend. Not only has he played alongside some of the world’s best golfers as the official odd man marker in the Masters, he has proven that he can compete with them.

However, because Knox is a “non-competing marker,” his score doesn’t count and all he has to show for his remarkable play is a little bit of online coverage time.

This year, Masters Chairman Fred Ridley announced that Knox will formally compete in the 2019 edition of the event.

“We are thrilled about one of our members competing in this special tournament,” said Ridley. “Jeff has been outstanding as a non-competing marker and has played alongside the world’s best. I am happy that he will have a chance to formally compete this year.”

In 2017, Knox played alongside Jason Day and made a nice par on the par-3 12th hole. We, as viewers, were all lucky to see Knox’s birdie thanks to the streaming coverage of Amen Corner.

In 2016, Knox played with Rory McIlroy.

If we’re lucky, we’ll get to see this legend make the cut and prove he has the skills to WIN a green jacket.

UPDATE (April 2nd): This is clearly an April Fool’s joke even if we all really actually want this to happen!
