A lot of people believe that Jon Rahm has an anger issue that’s been holding him back, well, Rahm is quite tame compared to European Tour pro and former European Ryder Cup team member Thomas Pieters.
On Saturday at the Maybank Championship in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Pieters was unhappy with a tee shot and let his club fly afterwards.
There was a lot of steam on that club.
Pieters, who ranked as high in the slightly unfair world rankings in 2017, has dropped to 78th. He hasn’t won since the Made in Denmark in 2016 and his highest finish after that was a T2 at the Genesis Open in 2017.
As much as I’d like to rip Pieters for his actions on the course, he hasn’t destroyed any greens, yet.

He may need to see a sports psychologist though in order to get past these little outbursts he has become known for.
Pieters shot 67-69-78-71 and finished T41 at the Maybank. He was 12-strokes behind winner Scott Hend, who played some creative golf.
Here’s a few more times that Pieters has taken out his frustration on his club thanks to Dylan Dethier.
Involving the gorse during the fourth round of the 2016 Open Championship is a classic. He walked away from that hole with a nine on the scorecard.
