Oklahoma golf team pulls amazing prank on freshman Patrick Welch

The Oklahoma men’s golf team is currently ranked No. 2 in the latest Golfweek Bushnell Coaches’ poll. They’re good. All of them.

Being in college also means having fun and picking on the freshmen.

That’s what happened to freshman Patrick Welch after the Sooners had just played in the National Invitational Tournament at Omni Tucson National in Tucson. While the team was getting in a little time at Scottsdale National’s Bad Little Nine course, the team tricked Welch into thinking he had made a hole-in-one.

It worked out perfectly because Welch believed that he had made an ace when all of his teammates erupted with jubilation.

This angle shows just how close Welch came to making an ace.

Look, golf can be boring and redundant and having fun like this makes the team aspect of college golf just that much better.
