Brooks Koepka.
Who?
This guy has four wins and three of them are major championships. He’s won in three of his last 6 major starts. If ever there was a guy who is built for the big stage it’s this guy.
Koepka won the 2017 U.S. Open at Erin Hills, then defended that win this year at Shinnecock, a completely different type of course, and now has added a PGA Championship win to his collection after holding off Adam Scott and Tiger Woods at Bellerive.
That is an impressive feat. And to do it with one of the best golfers, if not the best golfer ever, chasing you down on a Sunday? Wow.
But even though Koepka was leading the entire time, all eyes were focused on Tiger Woods.
Woods started the day four back and climbed all the way to one back.
He hit some absolutely ridiculous vintage Tiger shots.
No matter what, this guy is going to win again. He’s going to win another major again. He has now contended in his last two major starts and it appears that he is on the right track.
However, he won’t win another major until he fixes his driver. Woods hit zero fairways on the front nine. ZERO! Had he not had to scramble for birdies and pars from the rough, there’s no telling where he would have finished, but it’s hard to imagine it isn’t at the top.
2019 will be the year of Tiger.
Mark. It. Down.
