Tiger has to win again at some point right? I’m not asking that hypothetically, I’m genuinely curious when he will get his next win, thus making his comeback truly complete. While he didn’t exactly play great at the U.S. Open, nobody really did so I’m not sure how much of a representation of his game that truly is. At times he has shown signs of the old Tiger and at times he has shown signs that he is still figuring it out. Which one of those two will show up this week at his tournament in D.C. we don’t know. What we do know is that a win at his event would be a great way to fully identify him as back. Plus, it would also get him into the final edition of Bridgestone which seems fitting. It might not be overly scientific, but I’m taking Tiger to win this week.
The Stiff Shaft
This is probably the second worst event on the PGA Tour schedule because no one wants to participate in it. With only Woods, Fowler, and Leishman in the field as the big draws … who is going to watch this?
I agree with DMoney, this is the week Tiger needs to claim a win. He’s got a lesser field in front of him and needs a good showing after a disappointing U.S. Open.
However, if he is switching putters this week, it may not happen.
Not knowing what he’ll do with the flat stick makes me lean away from picking him this week, so, I’ll go with Rick. Fowler had a good performance at the U.S. Open on Sunday with a 65 after a disappointing 84 on Saturday. Despite not having won yet this season, minus the Hero World Challenge, Fowler still has two second place finishes and four top 10s.
