Patrick Reed will attempt to do something no one else has done in the previous 82 editions of the Masters.
Reed, who has rounds of 69-66-67, will attempt to become the first player in Masters history to shoot all four rounds in the 60’s.
If that’s hard for you to believe then you aren’t alone, but it’s definitely a thing. No one, not even Tiger or Jack, has had four rounds in the 60’s at Augusta.
Of course, Reed will have to fend off the attacking Rory McIlroy, who is in search of his first green jacket and the career grand slam. The two will likely play well off of each other and provide plenty of excitement for golf fans around the world, but it won’t be quite as hyped as the 2016 Ryder Cup when both Rory and Reed were shushing each other.
Whatever happens, today will be a great day in Masters history because the winner will be putting on the green jacket for the first time and the four guys who have a chance to do that are beyond deserving of that honor.
-14 Patrick Reed – Ryder Cup hero, Captain America, underdog even though he’s leading
-11 Rory McIlroy – In search of the career grand slam
-9 Rickie Fowler – One of those guys who is great but can’t seem to get over the major championship hump
-8 Jon Rahm – Man is this kid good
