Tiger Woods put up some decent numbers this week going, 72, 71, 70, 72 in his four rounds in the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines to finish at -3 which currently puts him tied for 25th. Woods made the cut for the first time in 888 days which could be viewed as a HUGE step forward in a return.
While Woods struggled off the tee, he managed to hit just 3 fairways in the 2nd, 3rd, and final rounds, he finished at 23rd in driving distance and was money on and around the greens all week. He currently ranks 16th in strokes gained putting this week. That’s pretty impressive for a man who hasn’t stuck around for a weekend since 2015 and who underwent a spinal fusion last year.
All signs are pointing in the right direction for Woods during this return and while Vegas may be shifting odds towards him winning a major, don’t bet on that just yet, but … don’t count him out because many didn’t believe he’d make the cut this week, much less finish in the top 30. Of course, those people don’t seem to understand that with golf, you’re only done when you actually say you’re done and Tiger has not given up yet.

He appeared to be loose and relaxed, minus a few outburst after poor drives, all week. He never seemed to panic even though his driver was terrible and put him in some less than ideal situations.
Overall, I’d give Tiger a B+ for this tournament. It’s not an A- because his driver was terrible and that is really the ONLY reason.
