Jim “Bones” Mackay looping for Justin Thomas at the Sony

Justin Thomas’s caddie, Jimmy Johnson, is sidelined due to plantar fasciitis which came on during the second round of the Sentry Tournament of Champions. With Johnson on the sidelines, Mike Thomas, Justin’s dad, has taken over looper duties and will finish the tournament with his son, who is currently 30th.

“My legs are tired,” said Mike Thomas, who last caddied for Justin at the 2016 QBE Shootout. “It’s always nice to be able to do that with your son, though.”

After this week in Hawaii, Thomas will head to the Sony Open where Jim “Bones” Mackay will loop for him. Mackay hasn’t looped since retiring after 25-years and 42 PGA Tour wins with Phil Mickelson. He’s currently a member of Golf Channel’s on course reporting and has been doing a spectacular job.
