This time of year is usually full of news about golfers switching club and clothing companies or extending current club and sponsorship deals. Sometimes, the same can be said for on-air talent as well.
Yesterday, Michael Breed sent this tweet out announcing that he is leaving the Golf Channel:
I’m leaving @GolfChannel and @TheGolfFix Looking forward to bringing the same exciting instruction to you thanks to @Titleist @FootJoy @GolfDigest #LetsDoThis https://t.co/x6svhBKJVx
— Michael Breed (@MichaelBreed) January 2, 2018
It was later announced that he will be expanding his role on the SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio channel.
Breed, who was Golf Channel’s top instructor on all its platforms, will now be hosting his satelitte radio show, A New Breed of Golf, five days a week and extend to two live hours each day (Monday-Friday, 8:00 to 10:00 am ET).
In addition to his expanded role at SiriusXM, Breed will also work with Golf Digest and Golf World.
It didn’t take Golf Channel very long to replace Breed. Yesterday, they announced the hiring of instructor and swing coach Sean Foley. Foley is a former swing coach for Tiger Woods and currently works with Justin Rose, Danny Willett, and Si Woo Kim.
