Former PGA Tour golfer John Peterson used his Instagram account to explain why, after spending his entire career as a member of the Titleist family, he has switched to TaylorMade.
Peterson explained that he had been receiving balls, gloves, clubs from Titleist since he was 14 years old and that when it came time for him to sign with a company, he took “significantly less” money because he was loyal.
That loyalty didn’t last too long after he retired as when Peterson asked the company for some items, he was flat out told no. He reached out to TaylorMade and they apparently jumped at the opportunity.
Peterson, who had a stellar college career at LSU and finished fourth in the 2012 U.S. Open at Olympic Club, retired last year at the age of 29. He had plenty of ups and downs over his career and although he earned over $500,000 while on the Web.com Tour and $2.1 million on the PGA Tour, he was never able to claim a win.
Peterson is now playing amateur golf and corporate golf and appears to be enjoying a much more laid back lifestyle than the grind of the PGA Tour.
