Phil Mickelson tweeted that he used Rick Singer’s company for his kids college admissions

For some reason, Phil Mickelson decided today during the first round of the Players Championship that he would bring up – without being asked – the fact that he used Rick Singer’s college application company for his kids.

Mickelson sent out the following Tweet:

Now, I’m no celebrity, but I have no idea why anyone would need a company to help fill out college applications on one’s behalf. How lazy do you have to be to do that, especially when you’re a legacy at Arizona State and a multi-millionaire?

I did it the old-fashioned way and filled out a form online requesting an application and then did the rest hand written when it arrived in my parent’s mailbox.

Also, I don’t understand why Mickelson would choose to even relay this news when he’s been involved in other things that were highly questionable.
