Matt Every has the answer to slow play, pulls up a chair during tournament

J.B. Holmes won the Genesis Open on Sunday and in the process pissed everyone off with his pace-of-play…again.

Holmes has gotten under the skin of opponents, commentators, and fans in the past for taking 4:10 to hit a layup on the 72nd hole of the Farmers Insurance Open in 2018 and on Sunday he pretty much did the same thing all over again.

However you may feel about Holmes’s speed on the course, Matt Every, who was playing in the Web.com Tour’s LECOM Suncoast Classic may have found the perfect solution for those who find themselves behind slow players.

Thanks to agent Drew Carr, we have a picture of Every waiting for the group in front of him on the par-5 16th hole at Lakewood National Golf Club.

If you were wondering where that chair came from, Carr went on to say that Every’s caddie literally took it from the 16th tee box and carried it the rest of the way.

So, there you have it, the answer to slow play since the PGA Tour refuses to do anything about it because they’re more focused on player comfort during practice and pro-am rounds.
